On 15 February, prospective applicants were able to learn more about the current call for new Ludwig Boltzmann Institutes in a webinar. Prof. Sylvia Knapp, LBG Board Vice President and Professor of Infection Biology at the Medical University of Vienna, spoke about the details of the application process. A second webinar for applicants will take place on 28 March.

LBI Call 2023 – first webinar for applicants:

The focus of the current call is on excellent research in the field of health sciences. Applications can be submitted until 2 May, and the new LBIs are expected to start their work in autumn 2023. New LBIs will be established in cooperation with a host institution (university), initially for a period of 7 years, and can be extended by a further 3 years if the evaluation is positive. Each LBI receives basic funding of 1.5 million euros per year (80% from the LBG, 20% from institutional partners).
