Accessibility

This accessibility statement applies to all websites of Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft (LBG) that went online after 30 September 2021.

Accessibility Statement

Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft (LBG) strives to make its websites accessible pursuant to the Austrian Web Accessibility Act (Web-Zugänglichkeits-Gesetz, WZG) as amended to transpose Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (Official Journal L 327 of 2 December 2016, page 1). This accessibility statement applies to all websites of Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft that went online after 30 September 2021.

State of Conformance to the Requirements

Due to the following non-conformities and exceptions, this website partially conforms to conformance level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) and/or the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V2.1.2 (2018-08).

Non-accessible content

The following content is not accessible for the following reasons:

1. Non-conformance to the accessibility requirements

Search results are dynamically displayed on the same site on which the search was started. This leaves the title and the position indicator of the site unchanged. We are still working on improving the search function.

2. The content does not fall into the scope of the applicable legal provisions.

Many, mainly older, images, PDF files and Office documents are not accessible. PDF files are, for example, not tagged so that screen reader users cannot or can only insufficiently access and use them. This means that such content does not conform to WCAG success criterion 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value). Third-party content, such as links of other organisations that are outside the sphere of influence of Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft, are not covered by Directive (EU) 2016/2102. We cannot make any statement as to the conformance of such third-party content to accessibility requirements.

3. Disproportionate burden

Our videos are hosted and published on external video platforms. It is not possible to provide the required audio description for some of these videos. Consequently, these videos do not conform to WCAG success criterion 1.2.5 (Audio Description Prerecorded). We plan to make available time-based media (text) as an alternative to audio descriptions.

Compilation of this Accessibility Statement

This Statement was compiled on 30 September 2021. The website’s compliance with the Austrian Web Accessibility Act to implement the requirements of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 was evaluated in September 2021 by a self-assessment according to WCAG 2.0 conformance level AA. The home page, a news page, an event page, the search function and the search result were evaluated. Our web editors regularly review the content of individual pages when publishing new content. This Statement was last updated on 30 September 2021.

Enforcement procedure

If you do not receive a satisfactory response from the above contact, you can lodge a complaint with the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (Österreichische Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung, FFG). The FFG has made available a special online contact form that allows you to submit your complaint electronically.

Please find the contact form of the FFG’s responsible service point at https://www.ffg.at/en/form/kontaktformular-beschwerdestelle

The FFG’s service point will analyse complaints to determine if the Federal Government or any federal institutions are responsible for the respective infringements of provisions of the Austrian Web Accessibility Act and in particular for non-conformities with the accessibility requirements. If a complaint is justified, the FFG will communicate recommendations for action to the Federal Government or to the respective institution and suggest measures to remedy deficiencies.
