The funds and the planning security they provide create room for new, forward-oriented initiatives and impulses, especially for the LBG, and provide a considerable advantage in international competition. The Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft (LBG), in cooperation with with academic and applying partners, developes and tests new forms of cooperation between science and non-scientific actors such as companies, the public sector and civil society in 20 Ludwig Boltzmann Institutes. Socially relevant challenges to which research can contribute are to be identified and addressed at an early stage. In the future, LBG will enable groundbreaking developments in the medical sector by founding new types of institutes and by promoting clinical research groups.
